Little Mountain Demolition & Recycling
Little Mountain Housing was the oldest public housing development in Vancouver. We provided project management and environmental services, including appropriate disposal and remediation of impacted soils and hazmat abatement. Exp pushed the recycling envelope for the project - everything that could be salvaged and/or recycled was reclaimed, even the kitchen sinks! We achieved a recycling level of about 92% and approximately $100,000 was generated by selling wood chips from wood materials from the demolished properties. The project won the '2010 People's Choice Award' from the Canadian Urban Institute Brownie Awards.

Organic Waste Facility
In a joint venture with W.S. Nichols, CCI and BTA (Germany), our team developed a design/build facility, designed to process primarily source separated organic waste (at least 100 tons per day), as well as mixed waste. This forms part of the Waste Management Strategy for the City of Toronto, which is currently exploring large scale expansion of this particular technology. The facility includes a front-end mixed waste material recovery facility coupled with organic separation and a patented anaerobic digestion process. The process generates methane which can be converted to green energy and quality compost.
